Core aeration removes small plugs of compacted soil, allowing air, water and nutrients to reach the root zone. Most lawns benefit from annual aeration, especially those with heavy foot traffic, clay soil, or poor drainage. We'll assess your lawn and tell you honestly whether it needs it.

Autumn (September–October) and spring (March–April) are the best times for aeration and scarification, when the grass is actively growing and can recover quickly. We're available year-round for assessments and some treatments like fertilising.

Aeration: the plugs break down within 2–3 weeks. Scarification looks dramatic at first but lawns typically recover fully within 4–6 weeks. Overseeding germinates in 2–3 weeks. We'll give you specific aftercare advice for your treatment.
